Prizren is a historic city located on the banks of the Bistrica river, and on the slopes of the Sharr Mountains (Albanian: Malet e Sharrit) in the southern part of Kosovo. The municipality has a border with Albania and the Republic of Macedonia.

The city is also home to numerous mosques, Orthodox and Catholic churches and other monuments. Among them:

The Shadervan (Turkish: Şadırvan) is a tourist area on the south side of town, there are numerous cafes and restaurants there. The ancient water fountain is a protected cultural monument, there is a legend that if you drink from it you will be sure to come back.

Old Stone Bridge (70m from the hotel)

The Old Stone Bridge (alb. Ura e gurit) is an Ottoman bridge and one of the landmarks of Prizren, Kosovo. It crosses the Bistrica river and is suspected to be from the late fifteenth century, although there are only few historical sources. The photograph displays the bridge, with the Sinan Pasha Mosque clearly being visible in the background. On the left side of the photo, the outer wall of “Kalaja”, Prizren’s Fortress can be seen.

The Sinan Pasha Mosque (Albanian: Xhamia e Sinan Pashës) is an Ottoman mosque in the city of Prizren, Kosovo. It was built in 1615 by Sofi Sinan Pasha, bey of Budim. The mosque overlooks the main street of Prizren and is a dominant feature in the town’s skyline.

The Hammam of Gazi Mehmet Pasha

The Hammam was built in the 16th century by Mehmet Pasha. The Hammam of Gazi Mehmet Pasha is considered to be one of the biggest in the Balkans and belongs to the most successful period of Ottoman architecture. The initial role of the Hammam was to serve as a public bathroom; however, currently is used as a place for various cultural purposes.

TheHouse of the League of Prizren (Albanian: Besëlidhja e Prizrenit), officially the League for the Defense of the Rights of the Albanian Nation (Albanian: Lidhja për mbrojtjen e të drejtave te kombit Shqiptar), was an Albanian political organization founded on January 5, 1877 but officially on June 10, 1878 in the old town of Prizren, in the Kosova Vilayet of the Ottoman Empire.

KALAJA – The Fortress of Prizren (500m from the hotel)

The exact date of the building of the Fortress of Prizren is not known. However, it is believed that the fortress dates from the 6th century. Through the years it has been used for habitat and military purposes. A characteristic of the fortress is the 42-stair tunnel which is located on the eastern side and takes you down to the Bistrica River.
